I’m Pouring Israeli Wine for 200 Lady Bloggers!
by Richard ~ July 10th, 2008. Filed under: Events, News, Questions.Hey, check this out!
Guy Kawasaki invited me to his home next week to pour Israeli wine for - are you ready? - 200 of the top female bloggers. They’ll be in San Francisco for the Blogher Conference. Blogher is an online community for women bloggers.
Guy’s blog How To Change The World and his book The Art of the Start have provided great practical inspiration for me (and loads of others) as we try to make something meaningful happen in the world through Israeli Wine Direct.
Guy was gracious enough to add our little blog to both the Israel Alltop page AND the Wine Alltop page.
Alltop is a one-stop-shop site providing an amazing aggregation of links to substantive sites on a huge and growing list of topics.
Two of my favorite “mommy bloggers” (start reading these cool ladies EVERY SINGLE DAY):
and
My partner in all things wine Tim Elliott will be chaperoning accompanying me. We’ll be sure to get you some photos and I bet we do some live tweeting from there so sign up to follow me on Twitter now, guys. I’ll even use TwitPic to post shots real-time via Twitter.
Anyone wondering which wines we’re pouring?
Flam Sauvignon Blanc / Chardonnay 2007
Pelter Unoaked Chardonnay 2007
What do YOU think about our wine choices for the party?
What % of the attendees will be tasting wine from Israel for the very first time?

That’s excellent PR for Israeli wine! And it makes sense that the great tech guys should be introduced to wine from this high tech and Web 2.0 powerhouse! All the great R&D high tech centers are in Israel and great technologies invested in Israel so Wine 2.0 is Israeli wine!
Looking forward to seeing (and hopefully reposting) some material and VIDEO from this event!

Good luck with your 200 Lady Bloggers.
Have you heard about the Stormhoek great success story? It was built on wines given to consumers to enjoy of at various events. The consumers’ word-of-mouth did the rest.
For more see:

I’d be glad to help you more if you are interested to target top-influential consumers within social networks (e.g. MySpace and Facebook). Top-influencers of most relevant communities to Israeli Wines such as Wine lovers community, Jewish living the US, etc.

Have you thought about building a wine lovers community on MySpace or Facebook?
Turns out that wineries on MySpace are a hot topic. You are welcome to check my website for full directory and other tips how can wineries use social networks more smartly:

For wineries who want to save the effort of building their communities, they are most welcome to use mine. I’ve setup an exclusive profile for wine lovers and I’d be glad to introduce to my community members any good wine you’d like to build awareness for in the US.
The cool part about my community is that it comprises of top-influencers - those who are passion about wine and have plenty of friends who are also.

Udi - I’ve created a great Israeli wine group on Facebook. Check it out at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Israeli-wine/44839500415
In the group, I promote Israeli wine - including, of course, the wonderful wine in IWD’s portfolio.
