I can't believe I missed this article!! First off, allow me to compliment you on a fantastic article. The psychology of consumer buying habits is a fascinating topic as is, but narrow it specifically down to wine and you've got an incredibly complex and riveting subject. Why? Because as the resident expert Roger so accurately pointed out, wine is more of an emotional product than a rational one. For many, it is a product that connects to romance, history, class and culture.

I mention this because I recently read, "The E-Myth Revisited", a great book by the way, which emphasizes the fact that businesses aren't selling a product, but rather an emotion. This theory was also reconfirmed in the You Tube video, "The Story of Stuff", highlighting the fact that our buying patterns are a result of our conditioning and emotional state at a given time.

Hence, as I see it, Web 2.0 has an incredible opportunity to tap into those emotions in ways we've never done before. To see a video of an Israeli wine maker not only share the history of his vineyard, but also how political, religious and cultural issues have affected his wines is priceless. Stories are key, and an incredible way to connect, remember, relate and retell the story of wine.

Super long story short, thanks Richard as usual for a great post.

Paul -

Thanks for the Comment.

Many of us are trying to keep up with you, brother.

It's our time now, isn't it?

Time for real people to talk passionately DIRECTLY about their own stuff.

Free The Grapes, baby.
