Israeli Wine in our Nation’s Capitol
by Richard ~ November 22nd, 2009. Filed under: Questions.Friday afternoon I delivered an hour-long staff training to the team at Zaytinya restaurant in Washington, DC, as they prepare to launch 5 wines from our portfolio newly on their wine menu!!
We tasted through all 5 wines that will launch on the Zaytinya main menu (!!) tomorrow with about 30 team members and made sure that everyone tasted each of the wines, had something to say about each of them, knew how to attach them to customer interests and understood the two key wine regions in Israel – the Judean Hills and the Galilee.
The 5 wines on the Zaytinya menu are Flam Sauv Blanc / Chard 2008, Pelter Unwooded Chardonnay 2008, Tulip White Tulip 2008, Pelter Trio 2007 and Flam Classico 2007.
Before delivering the seminar to the Zaytinya staff, I tasted through 6 of our wines with Sebastian Zutant, Wine Director at a fun hipster wine bar right down G Street from Zaytinya called Proof.
Great feedback from Sebastian and Helen there and…..they are adding 3 wines we tasted together to their menu – Tulip White Tulip 2008, Pelter Sauv Blanc 2008 and the tiny winery Trio’s Spirit 2007. The wines are on their way now and should arrive the week after Thanksgiving!
If you live in the area please visit Zaytinya and Proof and ask for these wines!
Here’s a little video post I did from the hotel room just prior to heading to these meetings…
