Why Do Texas and Israel Seem to Click?

Here is a picture of our table during the recent Houston Cellar Classic (we had 5 wines there!) hosted by The Tasting Room in Houston who now carries five of the wines I import from Israel.

I have recently been telling people (and it’s true!)

Israel and Texas share the Same Hot Latitude and the Same Hot Attitude

I love people from Texas. LOVE ‘ em.

I’m excited about all the progress we have made in that great state placing Israeli wines.

I don’t quite have explained the deep connection I feel between the energy of what I’m trying to do and the energy of the cool people I have met in Texas.

It’s not just religious, it’s not just political.

It’s somehow about two Big Hearted peoples with a similar Adventurer Spirit and interest in doing Big Things.

If you’re from Texas, please help me explain this, will you?

It IS attitude. :D We both don’t accept being pushed around. We’re able to think for ourselves and will call b.s. when we see it. We’re also very welcoming and hospitable to our guests. Most of all, we love where we come from; even if we just got here and now call either place home. We have big hearts.

Thanks to both of you for the comments! I agree both Israelis and Texans seem to have a real sense-of-place and pride-in-place. Can’t wait to get back to Texas soon!
